Ash and Lex's wedding

I was sure I'd posted pictures of the weddings but I hadn't. Ashley is a very good friend from the University of Western Australia. With James, we formed a hardcore trio: we played touch together just about every week. During the holidays, we'd go on hikes, all more insane than the next. Even though it's been three years since I've left Perth, I still consider Ash as an important friend. The experiences we share are quite unique.
Lex and Ash met at the beginning of university too, and had been going five years before getting married. They're the first of my first friends to get married.

The beginning of an idea

It started as an idea: oh Anna, here's your brother's kilt, I wonder how it would fit me. On it goes, and Anna doesn't mind it. Is her mind turned on? I didn't ask, but there come the slight encouragements. J: That looks awesome. Anna: (smiles and nods). J to me: I could wear it at the wedding. We look at each other and start laughing. Anna comes from behind and brushes James. Again a little smile.
Half an hour later, we're in a car and the kilt is in the back. James had so much success with it that the first photo of the happy couple was with him. He got a lot of attention; Anna must have been happy to lay a claim on him. Posted by Picasa

Should I frame this?

It's a hard question. We have a history of embarassing each other with despicable actions. Ashley is a long way ahead of me on this account, so this could go towards righting the balance.

Waiting for the bride

Ash is showing no nerves. In his case, getting married is changing a title, and adopting a few new practices. Some of them are important and will be challenging, but Lex has been with him for years; they've been through enough together to have built a solid foundation for their marriage. Posted by Picasa

The bride

Lex will not like such a close up on the web, but don't worry, I am analysing it from a different point of view. See the curl of her lips: she's trying to be serious, fighting off a uncontrollable grin. The grin wins. Posted by Picasa

The Hollywood Kiss

I wonder how rehearsed it was. But even I have to admit that it was touching. I was looking forward to it. Posted by Picasa
Ashley, sorry to say, but this is official. Posted by Picasa

My accomplices

Together, we designed the greatest of all wedding gifts, knowledge hard earned, and in the end badly received. We tried! Posted by Picasa

Ash and Lex's speech

They made it funny and endearing at the same time. They manage to include just about everyone in it. It was good. Posted by Picasa
How did Ash agree to that? Does he realise that these photos will be around for a long time? Ash, macho man, hasn't done the climb first! And Lex is helping him out... The world upside down. Posted by Picasa

Right at the end of the night, James and Anna are starting to tire. Posted by Picasa
