Sydney

Since my last update, a lot has happened. I am now sitting in an office in Melbourne, but I came to my present location through Sydney first, Melbourne next, Shepparton third, and from there came back to Melbourne. Since I have a lot of photos to upload, I am going to start with Sydney. I came down for my cousin's 30th birthday party. I stayed for the weekend, reacquainting myself with a city I have not lived in for seven years. This photo is of the Queen Victoria Building, a shopping mall with character and history for a change. I left Sydney about two weeks ago driving to Melbourne. That update is coming soon. Posted by Picasa
This is taken from the same area as the sunset photos later on. You should be able to see the city, the river, the bridge and the opera house. Posted by Picasa

Manly beach

One of many of Sydney's superb and very accessible beaches Posted by Picasa
I would really like to know how to get the contrasts right on such a picture. It's close but not quite there. This is taken from Manly beach Posted by Picasa
If only the post wasn't there. The colours are splendid. I am standing right over the church where my cousin Raphael got married four years back. Posted by Picasa

Birthday party

I came down to Sydney for Marianne's birthday party. She's on the left, holding her cake. Posted by Picasa

Sketches

Chris is accompanied on a pineapple can by Antony, Dominique's fiance. Posted by Picasa
Pierre and Catherine, my aunt and uncle and Marianne's parents, played out a sketch: Marianne, played by her mother, goes to see a corporate boss to ask him money for a film festival. Pierre sung that he should have been an artist and gives her a check to have his name in big letters in the festival. Posted by Picasa

French rap

Antony and Dominque rapped away about a dead princess played by the birthday girl Posted by Picasa

Rappers

Dominique made rapping look easy while Fabien provided the bass Posted by Picasa

Botanical Gardens shots

I thought that it said the opposite of what you can read. Nice surprise Posted by Picasa

Ficus tree

There were two such trees at my first university on the lawn where I spent most of my free time. I can't remember how many times I commented on their size. Anyhow, this tree reminds me of these days Posted by Picasa

I reckon that with a better camera, this could be a very good shot. Any ideas from the experts? Posted by Picasa
The city to surf race starts behind where this photo was taken. This a pretty typical Sydney lifestyle shot Posted by Picasa

Anna

Anna did civil engineering with me at UQ. She now works for an investment bank in Sydney. She starts around 8am and finishes by 8 pm on good days, around 2 am on bad days, and around 11 pm on average. Posted by Picasa
